WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND DEVELOPMENT CELL

Functions & Responsibilities of Women Empowerment and Development Cell

  • To encourage Women to be free of discrimination, including gender-based violence, in order to reach their full potential.

The most crucial conditions for the improvement and advancement of our country are gender equality and women’s empowerment. Under the capable leadership of Leelavathi Elayappan the Women Development Cell (WDC) was established in November 2008 in an effort to make Bharathiyar Educational Institutions a strong kernel of gender sensitization. The Cell works to create a gender-sensitive community on campus as well as in the larger community. Its members are both college faculty and students. It has been organizing a variety of academic, technical, medical, cultural, and social events to uplift women and educate college students about the significance of gender equality in society.
