ABOUT IQAC
Bharathiyar Institute of Engineering for Women was founded in 2008 by Sri Sakthi Educational Trust. It was affiliated with Anna University and was an ISO 9001:2015 and 21001:2018 certified Institution. As per the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) guidelines BIEW was established its own Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in July 2017. Quality enhancement being a continuous process, the IQAC becomes a part of the institution’s system and works towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. Every year minimum two times the IQAC meetings was conducted for the improvement of academic and administrative activities. The prime responsibility of IQAC to initiate, plan and supervise various activities which are necessary to increase the quality of the education imparted in the institution. It can promote and determine quality related activities and issues through various programmes and activities.
VISION
Creating the quality monitoring process for evolving the academic and the administrative performances of the institution and to keep track the best practices.
MISSION
- To create the learning environment for students and staffs by adding the various
- Teaching-Learning processes and modern ICT tools in the campus.
- To conduct the various assessment and the evaluation process for quality improvement.
- To collect the feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders for the improvement of quality institutional processes.
- To create ambience for conducting various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the benefit of students.
OBJECTIVES
- The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions.
- To contribute towards enhancement and integration among the continuous activities in Educational services, co- curricular and extra -curricular activities.
- To facilitate the creation of learner-centric environment for teacher and students and implement the ICT tools in modern teaching learning methods.
- To build stronger academic-industry collaboration for the benefits of faculties and students.
- To monitor the outcome of the academic performance and to develop the quality of research with the interdisciplinary activities.
Features
- Quality assurance is a importance of ongoing efforts to define the objectives of an institution, to have a work plan to achieve them and to specify the checks and balances to evaluate the degree to which each of the tasks is fulfilled. The IQAC has to ensure that whatever is done in the institution for education is done efficiently and effectively with high standards.
- Training programs are organized periodically for the faculties and the students. The IQAC also endeavors to optimize the integration of modern methods of teaching, learning and evaluation and ensures the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure.
- The quality benchmark is achieved in both academic and administrative activities. These activities should help in developing the student’s life skills.
Goals and Objectives
The primary aim of IQAC is
- The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions.
- To contribute towards enhancement and integration among the continuous activities in Educational services, co- curricular and extra -curricular activities.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
- To conduct the IQAC meet at least once in every quarter (twice per Semester) to monitor the institutional quality. IQAC is the first step towards the internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement.
Strategies
IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for
- Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
- Relevant and quality academic/ research programmes
- Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society
- Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning
- The credibility of assessment and evaluation process
- Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services
